Aamir Liaquat apologises after blaspheming against minority religion for 100th time
The serial offender, the notorious televangelist has struck once again, this time in order to mock political rival Maryam Nawaz
If you’re shocked by the title of this story and are thinking; ‘are you crazy? If you blaspheme in Pakistan, there’s no forgiveness for it’, let me put your mind at ease by telling it’s only the majority religion where you must die when you blaspheme as per Pakistani laws. But for minority religions, you get off scot-free. And if you’re thinking what a primitive society where majority rules and subjugates the minority, Pakistanis would have you know that it is so only because the majority religion is the right one and the minority ones are not. What part of this can you not understand?
Now, coming to our story. The serial offender, the notorious televangelist has struck once again, this time in order to mock political rival Maryam Nawaz, he tweeted a demeaning picture of a Hindu goddess making the basic joke that Pakistanis find so funny… yes, it’s throwing Hindu goddess as insults for the opponents. And of course, to save his guise (and political career), he has apologised, again. And his apology will obviously be accepted and the whole thing would be a thing of the past. Why shouldn’t it be? It’s not like he blasphemed against Islam. In that case, he would have to be given death penalty according to the Pakistani laws.
Not that this would affect anyone or make any difference but for the sake of “worth-mentioning”, Aamir Liaquat is not the only leader from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party that’s done this. Another leader, what’s his name, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan was reinstated in full glory after he apologised for his blasphemy against another minority religion. Of course, had he blasphemed against Islam, he wouldn’t have been alive today. And for the last time, it’s not because we’re primitive or savages, it’s because our religion is right and yours isn’t. What part of this you don’t understand?
If you’re still wondering what on earth am I talking about, I have zero interest in posting his picture of his tweets (no notoriety for the evil, sorry) but here’s a link for context:
